Reducing Power-Consuption of LDC1000 family during Standby-Mode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LDC1612, LDC1101, LDC1614

How could I reduce the Sleep power consumption of the LDC1000 etc. as much as possible? Is the PWR_MODE bit the only thing? Is it possible to switch of the clock during Stand-By, or maybe the analog power supply?

  • Hi Bernhard,

Yes, the LDC1000 PWR_MODE sets the LDC1000 into sleep (or standby mode). Ensure that all logic inputs are either high or low (within 10mV of 0V or VIO). Also, stop toggling the clock input for lower power.

You may also consider the LDC1612/LDC1614 or the LDC1101, both of which provide a shutdown mode for much lower inactive mode current consumption, and both provide many advantages over the LDC1000.
