How to change CDK illumination and lens?

We need to perform some tests with our own illumination source. I did not find any details on how to interface a custom illumination module to the CDK. Could you clarify the interface?

Moreover, we planned to change the lens of the CDK but it looks like the lens is glued to its mount and the mount to the board. Even adjusting the focus is not possible which is particularly bad considering its was poorly adjusted at factory (the image is not sharp at all). What could I do to fix this?

    Dear Pierre,

    Although it is technically possible to change the illumination given the availability of the design files, TI officially recommends against any tampering of hardware as it may void laser safety (Indicated in OPT8241-CDK-EVM userguide and quick start guide). We cannot provide additional advise on the same. Sorry for the inconvenience.
