LDC for weight scale application

Dear LDC team, 

I am trying to promote LDC part to my customer Conair, they are now agree to select the LDC for different application, such as Button application for their griddler and weight scale (TIDA-0215), for the button application we had no issue. While for the weight scale, they are asking if they can reference to TIDA-0215? If yes, they would like us to confirm if we can support below standard. Also what is the resolution we can achieve? Kindly advice. Thanks. 

Normal scale :                 Max capacity: 182KG / 200KG

Resolution:      0.05KG / 0.1LB

Accuracy:        +/- 0.75%

 

High accuracy scale:               Max capacity: 182KG

Resolution:      0.05KG / 0.1LB

Accuracy:        Average tolerance less than 0.3 KG / 0.6 LB

 

 

Japan scale:                             Max capacity: 150 LG / 182KG

Resolution:      0.1 KG / 0.2LB or 0.05KG / 0.1LB

Accuracy:        Under half capacity:  Average tolerance less than 0.2 KG / 0.3 LB

                        Over half capacity:  Average tolerance less than 0.3 KG / 0.4 LB

    yes, you can use a similar approach for your application and the reference design would be a good starting point, but I recommend swapping out the LDC1041 for an LDC1614. The LDC1614 offers far superior measurement accuracy and lower power consumption compared to the LDC1041. The 4 channels of the LDC1614 are matched which allows you to take differential measurements or place one sensor in each corner of the scale for improved results.

    The resolution of the LDC1614 is usually not a bottleneck; the LDC1614 has sub-micrometer resolution. Note that your mechanical design needs to support the weight accuracy and resolution that you require. If you can accurately translate weight on the scale to physical movement of a metal target with a high degree of repeatability, then you should be able to measure this movement with an LDC.
