Which transducers can be used with TDC1000 and TDC1011?

Hello, I am working on a fluid level sensing project. I saw introductory videos of TDC1000 and TDC1011. Transducers used in videos were quite expensive and are of 1MHz. My question is whether these TDC chips can work with other ultrasonic transducers of like 40KHz? What are key parameters which we should keep in mind while working with TDC chips? Any leads? Thanks.
