Metrilus documentation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPT8241

I'm using an OPT9921 TFC, with OPT8241 sensor for distance sensing.

I want to find out more about calibration processes using the Metrilus software provided.

I have the KeyAC_Manual.pdf but the sections on temp and distance calibrations are not detailed enough. Is there any more information available?

Thanks

Nicola

  • Nicola,

TI does not have access to the internal algorithms used in Metrilus software. You can contact Metrilus here - www.metrilus.de/.../
The TI VoxelViewer software uses a different method.

  • Thanks Bharath - help is very much appreciated.

I see that Voxel Viewer has 7 types of calibration, whilst Metrilus has 3 (lens, temp, distance). It would be a great help to know which of the Voxel Viewers calibration processes are subsumed by each of the Metrilus processes. This would help me answer questions such as whether the Metrilus calibration would offer a complete solution for us, or whether we'd need to use some mixture of the two.

I have contacted Metrilus, but as yet I have no reply.

    Thanks
    Nicola
  • The current Metrilus tool provides the following calibrations for OPT8241-CDK -
Distance - Per pixel offset calibration, common phase offset calibration
Temp - Same as TI's temp calibration
lens - Same as TI's lens calibration.

These happen to be the most important calibrations.

Apart from the above, TI provides -
    - Frequency calibration
    - Non linearity calibration
    - Pixel cross-talk calibration
