LM95071 Eval Driver

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM95071, LM73

I am not able to connect the Eval Board to my PC after installing the patch for windows 7 software, following all the listed instructions.  It is shown an error message saying that Windows can not verify the digital signature of the controllers (Code 52). Could anybody help me? Thanks in advance!

  • Hi Maria,

Let me look into this and get back to you.

  • Dear Michael
I have already solved the problem. It was concerning rebboting the system. I had problems to disable the verified signature. Thanks for your kidness. It may be a great idea to install the driver directly without having to "cheat" the Windows System
  • Dear Michael,

Do you have any Temperature Sensor with the same approximate resolution including an I2C communication protocol?

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi Maria,

Yes, we have a similar local temperature sensor that is capable of communicating via I2C protocol. Please check the link below, and if you can provide some information of your application. I'd happy to assist you.

  • Dear Sirs,

Could we use the LM95071 EVAL with the LM73? What is the procedure, I mean, should we make any change on the PCB?

    Thanks again,

    Maria

  • Hi Maria,

Unfortunately, the LM95071 Eval isn't interchanged with LM73 device. LM73 is a I2C protocol where LM95071 is a SPI. Hope this helps!

  • Hi Aaron,

We need to know the temperature in a device, not only in our factory, but also at the customer place

Firstly, we thought of the LM95071 because it had its EVAL board which simplified us the work, but then we noticed that the LM95071 didn't work with the I2C protocol. Considering the software and also, the TI advice, we switched to the LM73 device. We thought it could work with the same Eval (we remove out its LM95071 indeed) and we connected trough the JP1 the new part LM73. As you previously answered me, it doesn't work, so I was looking for a LM73 EVAL board but I saw it is obsolete

Could you be so kind to give us an advice for an easy solution?

Many thanks in advance and all the best,

    Maria

  • Hi Maria,

Sorry for the confusion, and all the troublesome that you have gone through. Like I mentioned on the previous posted, LM95071 and LM73 aren't interchanged on the EVM. There are a lot of work need to accommodate in order to bring the LM73 working on LM95071 EVM such as reprogram the on-board EPROM, assign I2C protocol lines to a different pin of the MCU, modify the definition file, and the package and pins aren't compatible. So, I am not sure who told you to do so, but I did mention to look at LM73 on the previous posted.

I wasn't sure why the decision had made to obsolete the LM73 EVM. I have some spare of the LM73 EVM, but TI's policy that I can't ship EVM directly to customer if is isn't orderable. Sorry about this.
