Why was the HDC1000 NRND?

Hello,

   I see that the HDC1000 is now NRND, and recommended to use the HDC1080. The HDC is a fairly new part; why did it go NRND so quickly?

    Hi Derek,

    HDC1000 is now in NRND because we have developed a second generation of devices that has better performances in term of accuracy and stability at the high Humidity values.

    The HDC1080 is only the first device that is in production with this improved sensing element, but shortly it will be followed by other devices with similar performances.

    I also recommend that TI come out with a few different protective caps like Sensirion has - they're handy for protecting the sensor.
