TDC 7200 TDC 1000 giving TOF value not changing

Hi,

The TDC 7200 1000 evm is giving me constant TOF values when the transducer is not mounted to anything. I was wondering why there is echo when the sensor is positioned to the open air. There are no obstacles in the wave path. The TOF values are changing when i change the NUM_TX value. When sensor is facing the air, i was expecting the EVM to timeout, but that is not the case.
