What is "OPT9221_XvXX.tip" and "OPT9220_XvXX.tip" in voxelsdk?

voxelsdk includes binary files OPT9221_XvXX.tip and OPT9220_XvXX.tip. What is it?

From my understanding. it is firmware of "DepthEngine" as described in OPT9221 datasheet block diagram.

Is my understands correct?

If so can I edit it?

Hi,

".tip" and ".tie" formats are the firmware distribution formats for OPT9221 fw. ".tie" files are used for loading fw in cases where OPT9221 connects to an EEPROM directly (Master serial configuration section described in the datasheet). ".tip" file is used for loading the fw in OPT9221 slave boot modes when a MCU/CPU loads the fw into OPT9221. Refer to the "Configuration" section in the datasheet.
Both .tip/.tie files are proprietary binary files. Customers should not edit the files. Doing so may result into damage to the chipset.

By the way. voxelsdk not include "OPT8320.tip". Does OPT8320 not require firmware?

OPT8320 does not need a firmware. All the reconfigurability is exposed only through register settings.
