Uses in medical application

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: FDC2214, FDC1004

I want to use FDC2214 (or FDC1004) in medical application with close proximity to human skin at all the time.

Do you have any data on (adverse) health effects of such configuration? If not, can you please tell me what are the expected effects of having this sensor in close proximity (in your opinion - so no need of "proof").

Do these sensor comply with any medical safety standard (like IEC 60601)?

A little bit about my application:

Expected distance at which the sensor will be placed is between 10mm to 30mm from the skin (still in design phase). It will never be in direct contact with the skin as there will be some dielectric material (non-metal) in between the sensor & the skin.

We will be conducting our own safety tests anyways but I dont want to design my product with incompatible component to begin with. Thus asking...

  • Hello Neo,

Our FDC devices do not include the sensor per se. The user will need to design the sensor (e.g. material, size, geometry, etc.) based on the requirement (including safety requirement) of each application.
