Sensing Solutions EVM GUI / Fin Select and Divider code

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LDC1612

Hi,

I received the following question from my customer.

-------------------

There is "Fin Select" at Sensor properties and input Adjustments on the GUI.

What is this parameter?

What changes when the Fin Select is set 0,1, and 2?

And there is "Divider code" at Measurement Settings on the GUI.

What is this parameter?

Which value should I select?

-------------------

Best Regards,

Kuramochi

  • Hi Kuramochi-san,
please refer to figure 11 in the LDC1612 datasheet, which contains both dividers www.ti.com/.../ldc1612.pdf.
The FIN select is the sensor frequency divider. There are some device restrictions on clocking configuration, so an FIN divider setting of > 1 is sometimes required. The setting is usually either 1 or 2; it should never be 0. Please refer to section on Clocking Architecture in the datasheet to find out which setting it should be for your use case.
The 'divider code' setting is the FREF_divider which is also used to meet device clocking restrictions in different system use cases.
