OPT3001 Start-up time from power supply

Could you let me know start-up time from power supply of OPT3001, please?

Customer system is not almost supplied power supply, and this system sometimes operates.
Customer want to know when MCU can access to OPT3001 from power supply.

Shimizu-san,

As an close approximation, the conversion time would be: Integration time (100/800 whichever they choose) + 15ms.

Also if possible, it would be good to add additional 50ms to the above number before reading. This is because depending on the input light level, the auto-ranging will take different time. So additional 50ms will ensure that full conversion is properly done.

I add a question.

From datasheet, I think that OPT3001 has status of shutdown mode at startup.
We must change mode of device by setting "M field" from "00" to "01", "10" or "11" through IIC for sensing light level.
Is it correct?

Hello Shimizu-san,

Yes, you are correct. OPT3001 has a power-up state of shutdown, so it minimizes current consumption until otherwise directed.

To take the device from shutdown to a functional measurement state, program the "M[1:0]" field to a non "00" state.
