LMT70 above 150°C

I need to design a switch that activates above 150°C +10°C/-0°C.  I do not need the switch to be precise but always just above 150°C.  It only needs to work once above 150°C.  I am looking at the LMT70 and need to know what the sensor does above 150°C.  I am guessing it does not rail at this temperature but would like some conformation on this.  I am open to other suggestions to accomplish this.  I one of the other posts for the LMT70 (LMT70 automotive grade)  of TI said there is an option for the LM56 to go to 160°C but I have not been able to find this.

  • Hi Raymond,

It's the LM57 that can go to 160C. They are similar parts. The LM57 has a built in comparator so take a look it should save you some circuitry. Specifically the part numbers are LM57FSPWQ1 and LM57TSPWQ1, with five and ten degree hysteresis respectively.

    Take care,
