Hi,

The bits of ERR_AHW and ERR_ALW in the STATUS Field Descriptions(0x18) have been kept 0b evne if the bits of AH_WARN2OUT and AL_WARN2OUT in the ERROR_CONFIG(0x19) are set to 1b, the bits of CHx_IDRIVE in the DRIVE_CURRENT_CHx are set to the minimum or the maximum value by using the arduino.
So, could you please tell us how to report the amplitude high and low warnings ?

Hi,

The bits of ERR_AHW and ERR_ALW in the figure 43 are reserved.
Which is correct ?
Does FDC2x1x series have the function to report the ampliture high/low warning ?

Hi Kato,

You may need to check and make sure that all of your reserved bits in the CONFIG register are written correctly. There are some hidden features there that may have been accidentally turned off/on, resulting in no errors being shown STATUS.

Hi Kato,

Sorry, I didn't see your response before posting the above one. The amplitude warning for the FDC2x1x series is reported in the DATA_CHx registers.

I will check all reserved registers.
By the way, the bits of ERR_AHW and ERR_ALW have been kept 0b even if using the gui(v1.8.8) on the FDC2214EVM.
Could you please tell me your advice about it ?

Thank you for your quick response.

Unfortunately, it will not be able to determine that whether the amplitude is the low level or high level even if read the DATA_CHx register.
Could you please tell me how to report the amplitude high and low warnings ?

Hi Kato,

Sorry for the confusion. There are two reserved bits (3 and 4) in the ERROR_CONFIG register that need to be changed to b1 instead of b0. Technically, the FDC2214 has the same register settings as the LDC1614 so if you want a more detailed explanation on the reserved bits, you can look at the LDC1614 datasheet.

Hi Rachel-san

I checked the bits of ERR_AHE and ERR_ALE by reading 0x18 STATUS register when setting 0x1819 to 0x19 ERR_CONFIG register.
As a result, the ERR_ALE function worked normally but the ERR_AHE function didn't work.
So, could you please double check it ?

Yes, I have set 0x1E01 to 0x1A CONFIG regsiter.
Unfortunately, ERR_AHE hasn't been detected yet.
Could you please give me your advice ?

Hi Kato-San,

Are you ensuring that your IDRIVE is set sufficiently high to trigger an ERR_AHE? If so, could you show me your register settings for CONFIG, STATUS, and ERROR_CONFIG?

Sorry for the delay, actually as a result of having applied the following settings for CONFIG, STATUS, and ERROR_CONFIG with FDC2214 evm, ERR_AHW has been detected.
So, this issue has been closed.
