LDC 1612 no read after shutdown

Hello,
I have ldc 1612 for Inductive Sensing.
I'm using NI cRIO with LV 2015 to create the I2C communication.
I succeeded to create the communication and get reads from the ldc 1612. but after i shut down the device (by entering High at the sd input) and turn on again (entering Low at the sd input) and try to get read from the channels (o or 1) i always get 0. However when i insert 0X7F\0X7E command i get the correct read.
I tried to to use the config command (0X1A4001) and other configuration but didn't succeeded.
What can i do?

Hello Tamir,
putting the device into shutdown always clears data registers and configuration registers.
putting the device into sleep mode clears the data registers but retains the configuration registers.
Please read the data before putting the part into sleep or shutdown mode. In case of using shutdown mode, the configuration needs to be re-written upon device wake-up.

thanks for yours reply.

As i mentioned before after the shut down, i put low in the sd ("canceling" the shut down) i did write a new configuration (0X1A), did i need to write another?

I just want to be more accurate, when i said shut down i meant to sleep mode via the SD pin

Hello Tamir,
sleep mode and shutdown mode are two different modes.

Sleep mode is entered by setting CONFIG.SLEEP_MODE_EN to 1. Sleep mode retains the register settings; upon exiting sleep mode, the device will resume conversion.

Shutdown mode is set by pulling the SD pin high. SD clears all register settings. After waking up the device from shutdown mode, it is necessary to write the device configuration first.

thanks for the clarification. I mentioned the shut down mode. i tried to write to the device configuration but nothing.

Do you have any idea?

If you can't write to the device after exiting shutdown mode, then it may be an I2C communication error. Please verify that your I2C protocol is set up correctly on the MCU, and verify timing and logic levels.
