TMP007 Calibration - Tref Value

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP112

I am wondering why in the TMP007 Calibration Guide, http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sbou142/sbou142.pdf, the equations for the calculated object temperature use a constant Tref of 25.0 degC instead of the Treference values that have been collected by the TMP112 device. This constant 25.0 degC value seems arbitrary and would not reflect changes in the Treference (relative to the changing Tdie) values over time. Thank you.

  • Hi Matthew,

The function is simply centered around 25C. There is no other significance to Tref. Furthermore, Tref does not represent an external calibration reference such as TMP112. The value obtained from the external reference should be used as Tobj, and the equations should be solved for the coefficients.
