Hall Effect Sensor for Clutch Bearing Design

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV5023-Q1, DRV5023

Hi Sir, Madam,

Is DRV5023-Q1 suitable for clutch bearing sensor design?

Is DRV5023 a redundant design?

Is DRV5023-Q1 certified to ISO26262? If not, how DRV5023-Q1 can be considered as suitable to be implemented in safety-critical applications according to ISO26262?

Hope to hear form you soon.

Thank you very much.

  • Hi Hong,

Our expert has been notified and should reply soon.
  • Hong,

Yes, the DRV5023-Q1 was designed for automotive systems including clutches.  It can be used in systems that are classified according to ISO26262.  This system-level standard has different levels ("ASIL") based on the severity, probability, and controllability of hazardous events.  Measures can be taken (e.g. redundancy or other provisions) to satisfy the required ASIL.

I know this may sound vague, but that's the best I can advise from the device-level.  The DRV5023-Q1 FIT rate is published here.

    Best regards,
