DRV5053 suitable Sensitivity for MH182KSO

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV5053, DRV5013

Hi sir,

May I know DRV5053 can replace MH182KSO??

and how to choice suitable Sensitivity??

  • Hi Kuo,

Thanks for providing the hyperlink to that datasheet.  This MH182 device is a Hall Effect Latch, which means in order to toggle the device output, you must apply alternating North and South magnetic poles. (this means alternating the direction of magnetic flux through the package)

Our equivalent device is the DRV5013 (not DRV5053).  The AD version has the most similar magnetic threshold range as the MH182, and we also have the FA version for the highest sensitivity (lowest threshold).

  • Hi sir,

    Thanks for your advise.
May I know why suggest is AD version?

    Best Regards,
    Kuo
  • The AD version has a magnetic threshold between 1mT to 5mT, across Vcc and temperature. This version is most similar to the MH182 devices, which have 10-60G and 10-40G (but that's only defined for 12V, 25C!). 10G = 1mT.

The DRV5013 is a significantly better device, since it defines and limits the magnetic threshold range across temperature, instead of only describing characteristics at 25C. Also, the absolute max Vcc is -22 to 40V, compared to the AH182's -0.3 to 26V.
