LDC0851 / maximum sensing distance

Hi Team,

My customer is considering to design LDC0851 using stacked coils.
I believe maximum sensing distance is approximately "0.3 x coil-diameter" for this usage, but is there any solution to extend sensing distance other than increasing coil-diameter?
He wants to design smaller solution.

    Hello Yaita-san,
    I'm afraid the sensing range of the LDC0851 can't be extended. If a smaller coil is required, then the LDC1612 may be an alternative. It is a 2-channel high-resolution converter and requires a MCU to configure it and interpret the data, but its sensing range can go up to 200% coil diameter.
