TDC1000-GASEVM setup for swapping channels

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDC1000

Trying to setup the EVM for air flow measurement and need to swap between up/downstream directions to get delta TOF. We can set the TDC1000 to auto-swap but the GUI does not seem to read the different directions. The MSP430 has a TDC1000_CHSEL line going to the TDC1000 which we're guessing means it can control the direction and read the TOF accordingly.

Can the GUI be used to measure delta TOF and does anyone know how to do it?

Thanks.

  • Ian,

For flow measurement, TDC1000 can automatically do channel swapping. To get this going from GUI, make sure

    a) TDC1000 register tab:

CONFIG2 (0x02) register: TOF_MEAS_MODE should be chosen as "Mode 2" and CH_SWP as "Enabled"

CONFIG4 (0x04) register: Receive Mode is chosen as "Single Echo"

    b) In Graph tab:

        FLOW MODE option is selected.

Please review the enclosed file for setting up and measuring flow. Even though it's for water flow, other than TX excitation Frequency all the other selections equally apply to your case.

If you still face problem, you can save and upload your config file (with register and gui settings) and I can review and let you know.

    Thanks,
