will it work to integrate fdc2214evm to the IIC master without detach MSP430 board?

Hi,
the fdc2214evm consist of MSP430 borad and FDC2214 board,

according to the user guide, user can detach MSP430 board from fdc2214evm and operate FDC2214 by attaching SCL/SDA/ADDR/SD/INTB/3.3V/GND.

my question is:
without detach MSP430 board from fdc2214evm, can I operate FDC2214 by attaching SCL/SDA/ADDR/SD/INTB/3.3V/GND?
