Good morning to all,

I just bought a EVM for test the FDC2214.

I need some advice on how to connect the three signals: SD - INTB – ADDR.

If i want a fixed address, can i connect the ADDR signal for example to GND ?

In what manner, directly or with a resistor?

If i do not want to manage the SD signal I have to connect it to what potential (+3.6 volts or GND)?

In what manner, directly or with a resistor?

The same thing for the signal INTB

Hi Whisky,

Yes, for both ADDR and SD, you can connect directly to GND. The INTB pin needs to be connected to a GPIO on your micorcontroller so that it can read and monitor the interrupts.

Please take a look at the FDC2214 datasheet for further information.

Hi Rachel,

first of all thank's for the quick reply.

I would like to connect the evm board to a my board that has a fpga

I would like, if possible, before going to read the registers with address 0x00-0x01-0x02-0x03 for the capacitance values, read the register with address 0x18 (STATUS), until the bit 6 (DRDY) becomes b1.

So I did not need to connect the INITB, I could let it float if it is not a problem.

What do you suggest ?

Hi Whisky,

You can leave INTB floating but make sure you set CONFIG.INTB_DIS to b1 as noted on pg20 of the datasheet. The INTB pin will then internally be driven high.
