Hello, after exciting the water flow sensor transducer using TDC1000 i notice ringing (analog signal similar to the received echo extending to a long duration), what is the cause of this ringing, and what is its the effect on the flow measurement accuracy?

Please check section 3.3 of the following app note about ringing

www.ti.com/.../snaa270

In flow we use two transducers, one to send and one to receive so ringing effect of the sending transducer should not affect the receive accuracy of the second transducer.

Yes, so it has not a direct effect on the receive accuracy, but this ringing can reach the receiver through the pipe.
