TDC1000 to measure concentration

Can TDC1000_7200 be used for an SG (Specific Gravity) application for motive lead-acid batteries?  

Does TI have experience and/or designs that used this to measure acid concentration or specific gravity?

    Ultrasonic TOF changes with change in liquid density. With TDC, user can measure ultrasonic TOF changes and hence detect density changes. Note, Ultrasonic TOF also changes with temperature. So if both temperature and density are changing then user has to build profiles (or models) of density vs TOF changes as well as temperature vs TOF changes and use this model to correctly infer the density with TOF and temperature changes. Hence, even though TDC1000 has the built-in capability to measure and report temperature in addition to TOF , user has to first build the models and then in software he has to compute density changes. We have not done any work on this before.
