HDC1080: Cannot re-upload the HDC Firmware

Part Number: HDC1080

Following the User Guide for the HDC1080EVM, I mistakenly downloaded the FDC2x14 Firmware shown on page 35 of the guide. This firmware was previously installed on my computer after I downloaded the HDC1080EVM software. The HDC10x0 firmware was also installed on my computer that time.

After uploading the FDC firmware to the EVM, the EVM now thinks it's an inductance sensor and the GUI tries to measure inductance instead of temp and RH (which it can't).

I have tried uploading the HDC10x0 firmware to reverse the problem, but it won't upload. The bar never turns blue but stays orange and never uploads. I have tried re-downloading the software, but the HDC firmware still refuses to load.

  • Hi Lindsey,
I think the best way to resolve the issue is to flash the original firmware using the Code Composer Studio and the MSP_FET430UIF (USB-Debug-Interface). Please let me know if you have it, and I will provide you the detailed instructions.
If instead you don't have it, please send me back the EVM and I will provide to fix it.
    Best regards,
    Carmine
