OPT8241-CDK-EVM: OPT8241-CDK-EVM USB device not recognized

The board did work a couple times, but not reliably. Now it always fails to connect on USB. I am using Windows 10, and a 5V 3A power supply. When I plug the device into the Windows computer, the computer shows a dialog with "USB device not recognized", and the device manager indicates an error.

Hi Marc,

Could you please confirm if all 3 LEDs on the EVM glow when powering the board now?
If not, you probably have a bad board and should RMA the board for a replacement.

Only the red LED is on. I originally tried to request an RMA (service request 1-2557401391), but they said I had to post here first. Do I need to do anything now to get an RMA?

Hello Anand, I replied a couple days ago that the red LED is the only one on. How can I request an RMA?

Marc,

I'm afraid we don't know what is wrong with your board. Please go ahead and continue with the RMA process with the request you already raised.

You might need to point them to this post and request them to forward this EVM to me for debug.

They'll get you a new EVM soon.
