AMC6821: Question of AMC6821 Auto Temperature Fan Control Mode with Remote Channel Not Used

Part Number: AMC6821

Hi Sirs,

We would like to use the AMC6821's auto temperature fan control mode with local temperature only. We grounded the un-used emote IN+ and left IN- open. According to the datasheet table 15, we might able to use the maximum speed calculated control if we can ensure the AMC6821 can make un-used remote channel to the minimum temperature reading.

Would you please advise:
(1) Can we get -128'C remote temperature with IN+ GND, IN- open connection?
(2) Can we make AMC6821 to auto control FAN speed with local temp reading without other software algorithm involved in max speed calculated control mode?
(3) Do we need to set the 0x04 bit 7 (MODE) to 1 before all other registers? If yes, should be write 0x04 = 0x80, 0x00 = 0xF5 in this case?

Thank you and Best regards,

Wayne Chen
