OPT3006: OPT3006 about the Dark condition and the Full-scale lux condition

Part Number: OPT3006

Hi Team,

The customer is using OPT3006.  The IQ of the 6.5 Electrical Characteristics for the datasheet, it shows the Dark condition and the  Full-scale lux condition.

What is the mean by the  Dark condition and the Full-scale lux condition?

What are the differences between the Dark condition and the Full-scale lux condition?

  • Quiescent current is the current used by the device in its idle state. It is the minimum amount of current the device will draw. When the device is being clocked on its digital interface, the current consumption will rise above the quiescent level. The dark condition is when no light is shining on the sensor, and the Full-scale lux condition is when the sensor is being illuminated by 83865.6 lux (spec from the optical section of the data sheet). Evidently, when light hits the sensor, it increases the amount of current the sensor consumes. Which is why there are separate specifications for the dark condition and the fully illuminated condition. The quiescent current will be somewhere in between when less light illuminates the sensor.
