LM35: Using LM35D to operate below 0C?

Genius 5355 points
Part Number: LM35

Hi Support,

Based on the TI LM35 datasheet, the minimum recommended operating temperature of LM35D is 0degC.

Will the component get damaged if operated below 0degC, say -30 / -40degC?

We’re looking into using the LM35D and are only interested in measuring temperatures above 0degC but the end product operating temp requirement calls for -30degC.

In summary, our concern is if the LM35D will get damaged if operated below 0degC.

The accuracy below 0degc is not important in our use case.  Please advise.

Thanks.
