TDC1000: Drive signal has a gap in it

Part Number: TDC1000

When I set the number of pulses on the TDC1000 to 16 pulses, a few pulses get out, and then there's a gap, and then a few more pulses get out.  Does anyone know why there is a gap?

  • Hi Saheel,

Could you please post which transducer you are using, and the config file with your device settings?

As an initial check, this looks like it might be the result of some type of mechanical interference. Is your transducer currently attached to a surface, and if so, how is it attached?
  • We're using the Olympus PF2R-10.  When I drive the transducer with the dev kit, I don't see this problem.  We see this problem on our custom circuit board.  From what I can tell, the circuit is identical, and we are setting the registers in the exact same way in software.  Clearly something is different, but I don't know what, and at this point I don't know where to look.

    These are the settings:

    TDC1000_Config0 27
    TDC1000_Config1 49
    TDC1000_Config2 20
    TDC1000_Config3 00
    TDC1000_Config4 5F
    TDC1000_TOF-1 E0
    TDC1000_TOF-0 1E
    TDC1000_Error_Flags 00
    TDC1000_Timeout 63
    TDC1000_Clock_Rate 03

  • Hi Saheel,

Could you also upload the schematic and layout for your board?

    Regards,
