IWR1443: Minimum distance and maximum speed detection

Hello, I have an application where there is a spinning disk with targets on it and the distance from the target can be 0.25" to 0.5" at a speed of 400rpm. What is the minimum distance and maximum speed that the IWR1443 can support?

Hello,

Typically detection capability relies on multiple things:
A few of them could be listed as below:
chirp configuration (programmable in mmWave Sensor Devices)
Reflection coefficients of the object to be detected
Gain of the Antenna used for Transmission and Reception

IWR1443 device is capable of supporting chirp configurations which can allow velocity in range 200km/h and minimal distance up to a few centimeters.
Please check various application notes specific to application specific chirp designs to see how use case specific chirps are configured.

To determine valid chirp configurations supported by specific mmWave Sensor devices please check the following chirp design tool:
