AFE4490: Power two leds at same time

Part Number: AFE4490

I've been working with the AFE4490 to do HR and Spo2 calculations, and everything is working fine.

Now for research purposes i need to turn the two leds at the same time using the push-pull configuration, Is it possible?

I've been looking at the data sheet and it seems it's not possible to turn the led current driver off;  and that the AFE has one current driver for both leds

  • Hi Adan,

The whole idea of push - pull configuration is that only one LED is ON at a given time. Also since LEDs are connected to back to back it wont be possible to turn ON them simultaneously.
You can try common anode mode with both the LEDs connected to single TX pin. Please not that since this is not recommended mode some artifacts might come along with that.
