IWR1443: Accuracy of 100 microns

Hi,

Product quick description says accurraxy 100 um +/- 15 micro. I was wondering what is the configuration for such performance since the resolution is inversely proportional to the bandwidth ? And calculation don't lead to such a resolution.

Hello Christophe,

For sensing in micro meter resolution the post processing chain and algorithm used is different than the one used in Out of Box demo available in mmWave SDK.

Hi Christophe,

Yes, you are correct, the demos and chirp configuration examples (such as the GUI for the out-of-box demo) are not able to achieve the kind accuracy shown in the graphic above. To get this kind of precision, a multi-stage algorithm is required. Here is a link to a demo which demonstrates this capability:

It is important as well to remember that we are talking about accuracy, not resolution.
