TDC1000: Please help bringing up a TDC1000-based solution

Part Number: TDC1000

Good day!

Last year Matthew Minasi (Thank you very much? Matthew!) helped me prototyping the solution for liquid level sensing using ultrasonic tranducer plaed above the container. We was successful in prototyping and I was suggested designing my board using TDC1000-C2000EVM as reference design with excitation signal booster taken from TDC1000-GASEVM design. So I have the board and I cannot bring it up, as after first TRIGGER pulse TDC1000 produces excitation pulses and START pulse, but after it does nothing, and even does not accept any more TRIGGER pulses until reset. Echo signal also does not seem to apear.

Matthew is not responding, looks like he changed his position or something.

Please help me, I'll provide the schematics, scope shots or anything else needed to solve my problem. It would be great, if someone can use TeamViewer or other remote assistance tool to help me.

Thank you!

  • Hello Oleg,

Are you currently using both the HV boost board and the TDC1000-C2000EVM together for this bring up? There are some small differences between the TDC1000-C2000EVM and the TDC1000-GASEVM that allows the GASEVM to interface with the HV boost board. Have you removed R80 and R81 from the TDC1000-C2000EVM? I recommend reviewing the TDC1000-GASEVM user's guide for additional setup information with the HV board: www.ti.com/.../sniu026a.pdf

Otherwise, please save and upload your config file, and include some scope shots of what you are seeing-- preferably with Trigger, START, STOP, and COMPIN visible.

    Regards,
  • Hello!

No, I am using custom board, which design is based on EVM designs. So I am developing custom firmware, based on TDC1000-C2000EVM firmware, and I guess, the problem is within TDC1000 initialization procedure. I can upload my buard schemetics and TDC1000 initialization code, of course, if it will help.

    Thank you.

  • Hi Oleg,

Yes, it would be helpful to see the board schematics and the TDC1000 register settings you are using.

    Thank you,
