LMT70A: LUT - is it usable or not?

Part Number: LMT70A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMT70, ADS1113, LMT70EVM

Wiat does it mean that LUT is for reference only and is not intended for calculation process?

10.2.3 in datasheat.

  • Hi Jacek,

    Let me check.

  • Hi Jacek,

Thank you for your inquiries. Not sure if you notice this, the LUT is in the applications section. The note that you are reference to is indicated that they can't be used for the temperature calculation, which mean it is not a specification. The table is just example using linear interpolation. If you want to use the LUT for a temperature calculation, you should use the LUT in section 8.6.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any quesiton.

  • Thank You for response. I have some issue. I have evaluate board with LMT70A and USB. I have also my own pcb with LMT70A and with microcontroller and i read a temperature, that is less c.a. 2 oC than temperature readed from evaluate board. I measure only air temperature. LMT70 is only soldered, there is not any silicon or other substance surrounding LMT70 on my board. Only soldered. I measure c.a. 25 oC and use first order transfer function calculated as in page 13. I use ADS1113 between LMT70 and microcontroller.

  • Hi Jacek,

The first order transfer function equation will give you the least accurate method. This is why you are seeing 2°C lower than the LMT70EVM. I used the LUT table to determine output temperature or you can use the second order transfer function equation.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have further question.
