TDC1000-TDC7200EVM: TDC1000-TDC7200EVM

Part Number: TDC1000-TDC7200EVM

Dear sir I am interfacing LPC 1769 controller to the TDC 1000 (analog front end device ) and TDC 7200 (stop watch timer ) while time of flight  measurement process  I am facing a two problems  those are

1) I got measurement start  interrupt   and  CLOCK_CNTR_OVF_INT interrupt  from the TDC 7200 (stop watch timer )  while time of flight  measurement,

2) I don't get any  ultrasonic signals on the receive  pin of the TDC 1000 (analog front end device ) even I am transmitting the  7 tx pulses to the ultrasonic sensor from the TDC 1000 (analog front end device ) .

please tell what was the problem

I think sensor is not working is it correct way or not?

but I am  change the sensor but same problem is occurred.

please tell me what is the problem.

thanking you sir.

  • Hello,

Could you please describe the way your transducer is set up? Is this in a level sensing application and what is the distance range? Please send all your register settings for TDC1000 and TDC7200.

    1. How long is the time between when the START NEW MEASUREMENT bit is set and when the CLOCK_CNTR_OVF_INT triggers? 8ms is the max time, so as long as it is not somehow triggering before then, this is working properly.

    2. It is likely that the return signal is too weak to trigger a STOP, or that you are inadvertently masking the receive line during the time when the return echo is active and the part is timing out because it sees no signal. To start with, increase the PGA gain, decrease the echo quality threshold, and set the TOF_TIMEOUT_CTRL to the max value. Monitor the COMPIN signal on an oscilloscope to make sure there is a return echo coming in, and further adjust those values until you generate the STOP signals that you want.

    Regards,
