Does building MSP432 need IWR1443boost to be plugged?

Or Building IWR1443boost need MSP432 plugged?

The user manual is not very clear in this section.

  • Hello Feng,

I am going to respond based on "building MSP432" means building/compiling code for MSP432 MCU. If you meant to ask something else then please do let us know accordingly.

IWR1443BOOST is EVM for IWR1443 which has its own application core and needs a compiled image of its own.  You will find such images as part of mmWave SDK's demo projects which can be loaded onto the IWR1443 device.

As such building an image for IWR1443 is an independent step and has no dependency of MSP432 to be plugged in.

If your question was in conjunction to a specific Application note on any of the mmWave product pages like the Fluid-level sensing using 77GHz millimeter wave  which talks about MSP430 MCU used along with IWR443, then the images for two devices will have to be built separately and loaded on the device. There is no requirement for these two to be plugged in during build step.

    Thank you,

    Vaibhav
