AWR1642: PMIC for automotive application

TI mmWave EVM use LP87524B for PMIC of the Radar, but the maximum input voltage is 5V. this PMIC seems specially for the mmWave application with Spread-Spectrum Mode and Phase Interleaving . Although it also has the AEC-Q100 but the problem is the Radar normally connect the power to the battery which is 12V and need to be in the range from 9V~16V. So does TI has any other PMIC that can be used?

Hello Chianan,
You can use an automotive qualified switching converted which can take a wide (9-40V) and convert it to 5V. For example a regulator like LM536025Q can be used for this purpose.

LM536025Q use 2.1 MHz Fixed Switching Frequency, is it OK for Radar application?

Hello,

When we worked on the design 1 level sensing package, there is a schematic that illustrates the two stage DC-DC conversion 24v to 5v, then 5v to radar.
