AWR1243: WARM RESET

Part Number: AWR1243

The description for the WARM_RESET signal is:

“Open-drain fail-safe warm reset signal. Can be driven from PMIC for diagnostic or can be used as status signal that the device is going through reset.”

This pin is marked as both an input and an output.  I understand that if it is used as an output, then is signals whether or not the chip is undergoing reset.  However, when used as an input, I’m not clear as to what it means by, “Can be driven from PMIC for diagnostic.”  What behavior does driving that pin cause in the chip?
