Hi Team –

I understand there are different variables, but what is the largest diameter this device can detect (FOV) at about 8’ away?

It’ll be placed on the ceiling, and I’m wondering how much room coverage we could get.

The Murata MA58MF14-7N has wide horizontal coverage and narrow vertical coverage, which is ideal for automotive park assist applications to avoid false echo positives from ground reflections. To maximize room coverage, I recommend a transducer with a wider beam pattern in both axes, such as the SensComp KPT18A.

Have you considered using the new PGA460 ultrasonic sensor signal conditioner for this project instead? I highly recommend it over the PGA450-Q1, unless you need to customization/flexibility of the PGA450-Q1 internal 8051.
