IWR1443: IWR1443 about the FFT questions

Part Number: IWR1443

Hi team,

The customer would like to use IWR1443.

Q1: He would like to know what  the function is for the FFT Hardware Accelerator.

Q2: Is  the function for the FFT Hardware Accelerator correct as below:

After the data is input, the FFT Hardware Accelerator can calculate the FFT and the customer does not need to design a software to calculate the FFT?

Q3: If the above function for the FFT Hardware Accelerator is correct, does IWR1443 have any restriction for the FFT ponts and any other aspect?

Q4: Can IWR1443 support the floating-point operations if the customer uses his design software to calculate the FFT?

Best Wishes,

  • Hello Mickey,
You are right, if you use the FFT hardware accelerators for performing the FFT then the software need not be used to perform the FFTs.
For details on the hardware accelerator you can refer to the user guide : Radar Hardware Accelerator User's Guide - Part 1 and Part 2 at the following link :
