AFE4403EVM: AFE4403EVM

Part Number: AFE4403EVM

Hello,

I was able to capture some data using the AFE4403EVM but I am having trouble getting a clean signal, the signal I am getting is noisy. I know it had to do with the LED currents and amplifier gain. any suggestions? or maybe someone worked with it before that was able to get a clear signal

  • Hello Ahmed,

Please provide waveforms of the PPG signals that you are able to capture with the AFE4403EVM to help debug the issue.
Are you using the default register settings?

One of the most common issues for the noisy signal is the power line noise coupling into the signal. If that is the case you may want to run the PC from battery power.

Additionally you may also want to provide ground isolation by placing black tape around the sensor.
  • yes, sir, i am running the default settings.

this is the signal I am getting while the sensor is connected to my wrist, I tried with the battery power and I got the same thing.

  • Hi Ahmed,

    Few comments on your waveform,
    1) You can enable the notch filter in the GUI to filter 50/60 Hz.
    2) Instead of looking at LED phase look at LED-AMB phase data. you can change using drop down menu for each plot.
    3) Try getting signal on finger first to validate the setup.
    4) For wrist please can you try on few more people.

    Regards,
    Prabin
