Hall sensor for PTZ camera

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV5053

Hello,

Does TI have any hall sensor solution for PTZ camera?

thanks,

TS

  • Hi TS, Linear Hall sensors can be used to measure zoom distance, as well as tilt (angle) using a diametrically magnetized disc. We have the DRV5053 today.

  • Hi RE,

    thanks for your recommending.

In reviewing the DRV5053, The parts are distinguished by sensitivity.

I have a short knowledge of the sensitivity of the Hall sensor, and it is difficult to talk about it.

We think about the hall sensor in the PTZ camera, but what about the sensitivity of PTZ?

    thanks,

    TS

  • Hello TI,

Is there anyone who can recommend for me about sensitivity spec?

    thanks,
    TS
  • Hello TS,

Sensitivity determines the full scale input range of a linear Hall sensor. The transfer function of the DRV5053 (and other linear Hall sensors offering a voltage output) is of the form VOUT = B x S + VQ. VOUT and VQ have the same ranges on all versions of the DRV5053 but each version has a different value of sensitivity, S. So you can see that the range of the input signal B (magnetic flux density) is inversely proportional to S (sensitivity). In other words, you need higher sensitivity to sense smaller magnetic fields.

To help you further could you describe your PTZ system requirements and how you plan to use magnetic sensing in your system?

    Best Regards,

    Harsha
