AWR1243: how AR1243 is connected with TDAx via Serializer/Deserializer ?

Part Number: AWR1243
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDA2

Dear support team.

AWR1243 does not have I2C i/f. So, it has only SPI.

If AWR1243 will be connected with TDAxx via serializer/deserializer , SPI i/f can be used for AWR1243 control from deserializer ? if no , how ARW1243 will be connected with TDAx via serializar/deserializer ?

Best Regards

KORO

  • Hello Koro,
You are right, AWR1243 can be controlled only via SPI interface.
In this case with serializer/deserialzer you can look at using a small MCU with the AWR1243 for the I2C to SPI translation.

  • Dear Vivek-san.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
    Understood.
And if customer wants to use FPD-LinkIII between TDA3x and AWR1243, can AWR1243 SPI I/F be connected with TDA3x directly ?

    Best Regards
    KORO
  • Hello Koro San,
Typically the FPD connection is used since the AWR device and the processor are placed far off from each other and direct CSI connection is not possible. If thats the case with your setup as well, then making direct connection for SPI interface also would be difficult because the cable lengths would be very large.

  • Dear Vivek-san.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
I think so and I understood what you say.
As you may know , our TDAx supports RadarSDK which support AWR1243 with TDA2/3x.
If customer wants to use 4xAWR1243(cascade) with TDA3 which has 1x CSI2 I/F. So, I would like to know how 4xAWR1243 will be connected with TDA3x.

    Best Regards
