CCS/IWR1443BOOST: Error Importing Project to IDE, Device Not Recognized

I was running through the installation guide for the IWR1443 Water and Sand lab using the Water and Ground User Guide after I had run through all the required tools for the MMWAVE SDK.

Download and Install of PC GUI, no problem. Everything seems to be in the correct folder.

Then I go to CCS project to Import to IDE and get this error:

I did not have any device plugged in at the time. Also note: IR1443.

Hi Steven,

Which version of CCS are you using? You need 7.1 or higher.

Hi Steven,

The current mmwave Demos and Labs available on TI Resource Explorer were tested with CCS v7.1 (7.1.00016 to be exact) and it appears that CCS 7.2 is not compatible with the current versions of mmwave labs.

Please use CCS v7.1 until we push an update.

Steven,

A new release of the mmWave Training Series (v 1.2.1) is available at dev.ti.com/.../ which you can download directly from the CCS Resource Explorer. This release updates the projects for compatibility with CCS v 7.2 (and maintains compatibility with CCS v 7.1). Can you please mark this answer as verified if your problem has been resolved?

I have the same problem with Steven, I'm using the CCS v7.2， and the version of mmWave Training Series is v1.1.3， but I don't konw how to update the mmWave Training Series ?

Hi Shangdi,

You can also update the mmWave training version by following the steps as shown in the images below:

1. Click the Home button as shown in the Resource Explorer Window.

2. Scroll down to mmWave Training Series and select the latest version from the drop down and press the download button next to it.

I am having the same issue right now on CCS 7.3

can you confirm if training version 1.2.1 works with CCS 7.3?

edit: im working with a AWR1642 and i have the DSS finally transfered to my project explorer. The MSS file still gives the same error.

Alain,

Can you please update your mmWave training version to the latest (1.3.0) and retry? We have tested both 14xx and 16xx (both MSS and DSS) demo projects with CCSv7.3 and they import and build without any problems.

Even with the training v1.3.0 i get the same error message.

note that i am using the AWR1642 and the error messages states IWR1443

I had the same problem.
I wonder if you have solved it ?.
The MSS file gives the same error. note that I am using the AWR1642 and the error messages states IWR1443.

I still didnt solve it. It is also weird that i get the error only only on the MSS and not the DSS.
There should be an other way to import the MSS file right?

1. Resource explorer view in CCS with mmWave Training tree expanded (to confirm that the latest version is indeed active)
2. CCS version information. (Help -> About Code Composer Studio).
3. Error screenshot.

the next image shows an error of the DSS import as expected because the DSS is already imported.

3. the CCS version

HI Licy,

Your CCS version screenshot shows CCS version 7.1. As instructed in the previous responses to this thread, please use CCS version 7.2 with mmWave training version 1.3.0.

Hi Alain,

Given that Licy has been able to use the same package with CCSv7.3 without problems, the problem seems to be specific to your CCS Installation. Please ensure that the mmWave Device Support package is installed on your machine by selecting the following options under CCS.

Help->About Code Composer Studio->Installation Details.

You should see the "mmWave Radar Device Support" package listed under the Installed Software Tab as shown below:

finally after reinstalling ccs and all the dependencies mentioned in the SDK i could import and build the project!

Hi Nitin!

I am using CCSv7.1 and i am facing the same issue as Steven i.e i get this error message "Error importing project. Device-id "IWR1443" is not recognized!". Can you help me with it?

Like said in multiple topics, try upgrading to the newest version of CCS (7.3) and the newest version of the mmWave training (1.3.0)

Also note that there is a new version of the sdk (1.1)

I installed all programs and dependancies for a second time to make it work.
