IWR1642: Power on/off sequence

Part Number: IWR1642
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642

Hi,

My customer is asking the power on/off sequence info of IWR1642.

I have recommended the customer to copy the power design from EVM, but they are still asking for such info. Would you pls kindly help?

Thanks,

  • Hello Chris,
If you refer to the AWR1642 datasheet section 5.10 you can find the power supply sequencing and reset timing mentioned.

    Regards,
    Vivek
  • Hello Chris,

As Vivek pointed out, the power sequencing is that all rails come to the nominal value, as the datasheet indicates, then there is a few millisecond delay, and then the nRST is released.

Section 5.4 has the power supply limits.

Fig 5-2 shows the 3ms time after power is stable before releasing the nRST.

Table 5-2 shows what the power quality should be, related to ripple and noise for the 1.8v analog, and 1.3v analog inputs.

As for the DC power design, the EVM is a good starting point.
