I bought on DigiKey IR temperature sensor TMP006. And now I have some problems with them.
I tried to assemble the PCBs.
The sensors were soldered to the PCBs using a conventional mounting hairdryer. I handled the sensors very neatly. All the tested PCBs were stacked in one small package. Then I put them out of the package and checked it again - 4 pcs. from 10 pcs. sensors stopped working. In 3 non-working sensors I found small mechanical damages - chips on the corners of the case.
I assume that the chipped would appear even from the fact that the PCBs were lying on the table with the sensor down the table.
I checked datasheet and didn't find any information about how to properly solder, how to handle the sensor, it is fragile or not, itc.
Can you help me with my question? Maybe somebody had the same problems...
