Part Number: AWR1642BOOST

Hi,

I have installed the mmWave DFP and opened the Radar studio, as soon as I open the application it shows error as "object reference not sent to an instance of an object". I have Reinstalled it, but still it is showing the same error.

Thanks,

Vinayak

  • Hello Vinayak,
Does it keep giving this error when ever you start the tool? Is it a windows 7 machine you are using?

    regards,
    Vivek
  • Hi Vivek,
Yes its keep on repeating when I open the application , Yes I'm using windows 7 .
  • Hello Vinayak,
Have you followed the instructions in the Radarstudio user guide to install the FTDI drivers , matlab runtime engine etc. ? Do you see the 4 AR devpack COM ports in the device manager as is shown in the user guide?
Also is this the only window that shows up or is there another window of the radar studio? If so can you send a screenshot of that as well to se at what point this error is coming up? We have not seen this error before.

    Regards,
    Vivek
  • Hi Vivek,
Yes I have followed all installation steps in the RadarStudio user guide, installed FTDI drivers and I can see 4 COM ports , and installed matlab runtime engine also.
When I click on Radar studio application, radar studio is not at all opening, only this error window pop ups. There is no any other windows.

    Thanks,
    Vinayak
  • Hi Vinayak,

This is a stupid solution but what worked for me was I moved the ti folder into a new folder so it went from:

    C:\ti\mmwave_dfp_00_07_00_04

    to

    C:\New folder\ti\mmwave_dfp_00_07_00_04

This does result in an another error:

but I don't know if this causes any issues as I am still able to run RadarStudio:

    Thanks,

    Faiz

  • Hello Vinayak,
We are checking as to what could cause this error on some laptops.
Meanwhile can you change the file name of the following file : "GuiConfig.xml" to "GuiConfig.xml.org" . A new GuiConfig.xml should be created.

    Regards,
    Vivek
  • Hi Faiz,
Thanks for help, its showing the error same as you mentioned but I can able to use the radarstudio application.
  • Hi Vivek,
I couldn't find the file you mentioned.

    Thanks,
    Vinayak
  • Hello Vinayak,
Sorry I missed mentioning that the file would be in the c:\users\<XYZ>AppData\Roaming\RSTD.

If you continue using the tool after the error does it work as expected or are you seeing further issues?

    Regards,
    Vivek
  • Vivek,
There is no change even after i changed the file name as you said, and yes its working fine even after error, but i cant use for more iterations, like if i want to change the specs and set it only two three times only I'm able to do it.

    Thanks,
    Vinayak
