Hi,

I would like to capture the ADC raw data with the capture demo and HSDC over TSW1400 directly without using the RadarStudio. I want the AWR1642 keep sending captured frames through LVDS. And launch the HSDC pro to capture the LVDS data. My question is:

(1) Is the TSW1400 capturing synchronized on the beginning of each frame? If it is not, is there a way to locate the start address of the first frame in the dumped binary file?

(2) Do I need to configure the trigger option in HSDC to made it synchronize? If so, how?

Hello Jerry,
When you select the "trigger mode enable" option the TSW would start the capture only when it detects toggle on the LVDS CLK line.
The triggering does not happen at the start of the frame , but you can put arm the HSDC pro (in triggered mode) by clicking "Read DDR memory" and then immediately start the sensor so that the capture starts from the first frame .
The other option is the capture demo allows to add user specific data along with the ADC data , this can be used to identify the chirp number.

Hi, Vivek,
I noticed the Radar studio downloads its own AWR1642 firmware to control the Radar. Is it possible to use the capture demo firmware instead. So I can still keep using the Radar studio to capture the raw data. Many thanks.

Unfortunately you cannot use the radar studio with the capture demo application.
