OPT9221: Output Data Format for depth, raw IQ and raw quad data

Hello optical support team,

I would like to know the output data format for OPT9221.

The datasheet said that one pixel data consists of 4 bytes as Flag[4], Phase[12], Ambient[4], Amplitude[12]. These data are transmitted as quad block.

Q1 : Is the quad output format used only OPT8241?

Q2 : OPT9221 output mode seems to be selectable by setting Reg.25h of OPT9221 as following 3 modes, depth data, raw IQ data and raw quad data. What is the output data format for each output mode?

A1: default operation is transmitting in 4-byte mode (32-bits). What you quoted is for 4-byte mode. Default operating mode does not output in quads.

A2: Please see section 7.3.4.1 on page 22 of www.ti.com/.../opt9221.pdf.

Thanks for your reply.

Regarding output data format, I think the datasheet mentioned only for the depth data output mode. I could not find any description about "raw IQ data" and "raw quad data" output mode.
Could you let me know difference of those modes?

Hi Katsushiko,

IQ data and raw quad data modes are unsupported modes used for TI internal debug only.
